Manaaki Ukraine is inviting all Creatives in New Zealand to come together and support the World Central Kitchen providing Kai to Ukrainians fleeing war.

The Manaaki Ukraine Campaign was launched on Tuesday the 29th of March 2022.

“Sam Witters, CEO of TORO and AMO has been in contact with close friend and colleague Izabella Wiley, GM of Arts and Entertainment Networks (A&E) Eastern Europe, who, with a group of amazing women, is at the frontline in Poland helping provide supplies to the people flooding the borders. Her stories from on the ground are heart-breaking as you can imagine – women and children arriving in Poland frozen, physically, and emotionally, after queuing at the border for over 50 hours. There have also been great acts of courage and kindnesses, big and small. Like so many of you, we have been compelled to act and tomorrow, on behalf of all of us in the creative industries, we are launching the MANAAKI UKRAINE campaign, which I wanted to give you a preview of, and to personally ask for your support to get it out there.”

Manaaki Ukraine are asking Aotearoa’s creative businesses, sectors, and communities to help by supporting fundraising for World Central Kitchen, which provides kai to refugees.  They have chosen to put their weight behind World Central Kitchen because they are clearly doing the mahi on the ground and feeding people in need is so close to everyone’s hearts and completely resonates with the desire to provide manaakitanga from Aotearoa.
